rough first draft of proposal

How senior citizens and small children interact with technology, specifically the internet.  I would use my 7 year old sister and my 70 year old grandfather as subjects, along with my other grandparents and young cousins. Through out the course of my research project I would be charting the progress my grandfather George makes with learning how to use his computer. He can barely turn the machine on, so it would would be quite a triumph to get him to create his own blog, and get him to blog as a part of the study.  I would record his progress by filming my visits with him trying to teach him how to use his computer, and record his thoughts and feelings about how the internet has changed the world. I will also be asking similar questions to the 7 year old, and recording her progress as well- she's quite advance as it is.
I would use a mix of film, photography, and other forms of graphic design to create a multimedia presentation that could be edited into mini webisodes.  I could air the different webisodes on this blog to chart my progress- and create a final short film combining all of the material.
The resources that I would use for research would be the books we are already reading in this class.
Along with using the magazine "Wired" as a resource
the book "300 Incredible things for seniors to do on the internet", by Joe West
Various internet sites that teach seniors how to use the internet ( to use them as tutorials- and possibly create our own)
The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA)
I will also ask questions to my parents and other parents how they feel about children using the internet, the benefits and their fears.
I'm in the process on finding more resources, the books and course material that we are required to read will be perfect for case study information, and help me build my thesis.

Quest for Computer Love

The search has begun.
I just entered Computer Love into Google Search,
I'm about to click on the link "Kraftwerk-Computer Love on Last FM" ( To listen to the song)
Urrrgg, they want me to buy it- so I'm going to do another search now, refining it to:
Computer Love-Kraftwerk
I found the lyrics on Lyricsdownload.com:

All lines sung twice]

Computer love
Computer love

Another lonely night
Stare at the TV screen
I don't know what to do
I need a rendezvous
Computer love
Computer love

I call this number
For a data date
I don't know what to do
I need a rendezvous

computer love
computer love

I just listened to it on ILIKE.com, and I realize that the one we listened to in class was a complete remix, because the original has male vocals- so the search continues:

I'm now searching for Computer Love-Remix:
and found this video on youTUBE

I still don't think this is what I was looking for,
here's another version:

LOL this is pretty funny!

This one is pretty clever:
it's the SIMS- def computer love

Here it is live: with the live talkie box- Zap and Rogger

I just did a search for Computer Love-female Vox Remix and am not finding anything....
I'm going to keep looking!
The most popular remix seems to be by Zap and Roger
The Beastie Boys have a remix too:
you can listen to it on this site: http://www.hardtofindrecordsrecordstore.com/mp3/MR247107_2.mp3
but there are no vocals on it, I just realized it's a break beat for DJ's to play.
It appears Jay Z did a remix as well, but when I went to go listen to it the site wanted me to sign up and I said no.

I found a site that is dedicated to Kraftwork influences:
http://www.cuug.ab.ca/lapierrs/creative/kraftwerk/tributes.html

Here's some french site: http://musique.fluctuat.net/kraftwerk/computerlove-remix-t25428.html

I'm looking on dozens of pages- I can't seem to find the exact one we listened to in class : (

When all is said and done, this song seems to be significant because it is expressing modern forms of love, computer love.  The lyrics of the song are very relevant, and I'm sure more then one online dating company has licensed "Compute Love" for a commercial or two. It's a fun song, it's very current, and it's been remixed various times by various artists- because of it is fun yet meaningful.  It expresses a certain loneliness that the computer age has helped create with forms of isolation, and virtual connections.
